Roger Mason hit three free throws with 7.6 seconds left in the game to seal a 75-71 
Orlando Magic win over the New Orleans Hornets. 

J.R. Smith had a chance to tie the game at 72 all with 11 seconds left, but his 
running three pointer clanged off the rim. Hornets guard Troy Bell grabbed the 
missed three and was fouled. He sank both his free throws to make it a 71-72 game 
with 8.9 seconds left. Mason Jr. was fouled on the ensuing play by Bell. The foul 
was Bell's seventh, resulting in a technical foul. Mason Jr. sank all three free 
throws and the game ended 75-71. 

Dwight Howard led the Orlando Magic with 21 points (9-12 FG) and nine rebounds. 
Mason Jr. chipped in 17 points (5-13 FG), while Jameer Nelson collected 13 points (4-14 FG). 

Orlando finished the game shooting 41 percent (26-64 FG). They forced the Hornets 
into 16 turnovers, resulting in a 25-15 advantage in points off of turnovers. 

J.R. Smith led the way for the Hornets with 19 points (6-20 FG) and six assists. 
Maciej Lampe (4-7 FG) and Sean Banks (5-11 FG) chipped in 12 points a piece. 
Lampe also collected 10 rebounds. 

New Orleans shot just 36 percent (22-62 FG) for the game. 

Hornets' rookie Brandon Bass fell hard on his back in the fourth quarter, and suffered
a bruised back. He did not return to the game after the injury. David West (sprained 
left ankle) and Chris Paul (high right wrist sprain) did not play for the Hornets. 
All are day-to-day and expected back for Tuesdays game. 

The Magic take on the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday at 7 p.m., while the Hornets battle 
the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
