Manu Ginobili scored 19 points, Tim Duncan added 15 and Beno Udrih 14 as the San 
Antonio Spurs beat New Orleans 97-90 Thursday night in the Hornets' first game 
in Louisiana since Hurricane Katrina.

The defending champion Spurs (1-5), losers of their first five preseason games, 
held a lead of as many as 26 points.

Maciej Lampe led the Hornets (1-3) with 23 points and Rasual Butler added 12.

New Orleans, which will play just six games in Louisiana this season, trailed 
49-38 at halftime.

All-Stars Ginobili and Tim Duncan combined to score San Antonio's first 11 points 
of the third quarter, pushing the advantage to 60-42.

With reserves on the court for both teams, the Hornets cut the deficit to 90-86 
with just over 3 minutes remaining but got no closer.
